Kidsfirst’s non-profit kindergartens have been part of Canterbury, West Coast and Central Otago communities for more than a century, and with our wonderful Central Otago kaiako making a huge difference to the lives of tamariki, we’re excited to welcome more to our Kidsfirst whānau.

For over 100 years, Kidsfirst’s South Island Kindergartens are where children have come to explore, make friends and grow a life-long love of learning. Our nearly 70 non-profit kindys are #betterbecause for a whole lot of reasons – including fully trained and registered teaching teams, an emphasis on community connection and bicultural heritage, Kidsfirst’s legendary Big Backyards and a unique learning-through-play approach.
